Ken Kang's Tuesdizzle QT #1

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” Matthews 7:3

Happy tuesdizzle y’all. I first heard this verse in one of my classes last semester and sort of struck a chord with me. So, for my QT I thought to myself, trying to conceptualize and contextualize this verse. Whether we like to admit it or not most of us are quick to judge people arbitrarily and rather harshly, but who are we to judge one another’s flaws? We are all born with sin and we all make mistakes, were human and its natural. I admit that I’ve been guilty of being judgmental before many times, but as I meet new people I’m trying to apply this verse to my life and be more accepting. Instead of being critical of others and bringing them down, try to help them up. At the same time try internalize and be more critical of yourself. I think this mentality has helped me a bit in becoming a better Christian and just being more patient and accepting person in general. So, whenever someone unjustly criticizes you, be like hold up.. Matthews 7:3, you should look within yourself before you pass judgment on others.

As for prayer requests I’d like to pray for the people of Haiti as they go through the recovery process because it will be long and difficult. I hope that the Lord will be there to ease the pain and suffering. I also pray for that this QT Blog will allow us all to grow spiritually as Christians and foster fellowship. Lastly, I also pray for Brett Favre’s physical recovery because he took some straight up nasty hits that no person as old as him should be taking lol. Hope everyone has a good tuesdizzle :)

  1. kenny kang, i agree and am glad your qt was about judging and what not.
i'm glad God is showing you this wisdom because personally, ive always had a hard time being too judgmental of others. i shall pray and i guess empathize more with others. because after all, everyone is God's creation. what right do we have to judge God's work!

  3. Hi Ken.
    I too am judgmental but...secretly.
I would be the one telling other people not to be so critical.
But going to into the real world made me realize I'm really critical.
    Especially towards authority figures.
This is one of my prayer requests. I'll think of this verse.
